Car Shield wouldn’t pay as advertised, MUST BE COMPLETELY DEAD or your on the hook

1

Bought the insurance in October 2020. Took the van to the dealer in February 2021. Had to personally authorize the teardown expense, car shield won't pay anything till they know what is wrong. After the problem was found, car shield refused to pay for the bad valve and cylinder head. Here is their explanation: The item or object must be completely damaged, broken, or "dead in the water" as the saying goes or they won't pay for it. This flies directly in the face of logic. If you fix it now, it won't completely blow up the motor, leave us stranded beside the road, and cost tons more to fix. Our lawyer sent them a letter to that effect as well. Didn't matter, they wouldn't pay for that part of the repair. According to their advertising, we would only have to pay $100 It cost $3,123 to fix the engine, and they paid for half. One added note - if you want to take them to court, you have to go to Colorado according to their contract. I should have checked them out before giving them a dime. Don't make the same mistake - find a better company, they're out there. User's recommendation: Choose a different company and do your homework before paying them a dime.
