Canceled service

I tried to cancel my subscription that I had for a year. I thought I had canceled to make sure that they didn't try to renew my subscription. I never signed on again I never logged on I have never again tried to use their service past the one year that I had already paid for. Now they are claiming that I owe them $119.20 for another year subscription that I have not used. And they sent it to a collections agency. How am I being charged for something I haven't used? You can clearly see when you were last logged on and I haven't been on since I tried to cancel or since my year subscription was up?
