Beware of sales signs, they mean nothing!

2

Yesterday, on December 8th, my wife and I went to the Dillards at the Melbourne Square Mall in Melbourne, Florida. She was pointing out items that I might get her for Christmas. In particular, she pointed out a wallet named The Sak. On the rack above was a sign that said The Sak 30% off, and The Sak was the only brand on the rack. This afternoon (12/9/2019) I returned to purchase that wallet, and I noticed that a couple of the wallet had a sticker on the price tag. I asked a sales girl if the price on the wallets was the final price plus an additional 30% off, or if that was the final price. I was told The Sak wallet I wanted to purchase for my wife was not on sale, even though it had a 30% off sign above it! I walked out of the store, and returned an hour later and asked to speak to the manager. All the wallets without stickers had been moved across the isle with no sale sign above them. When the manager approached me, she did so with an attitude like I had just kicked her dog. I explained the situation to her, and she told me the wallet I wanted to purchase had never been on sale, nor had they been on the sale rack. (All the wallets that didn't have a new sticker on the price tag had been move onto the rack across from where they were.) I told her she was mistaken, and they were there yesterday, and they were there an hour ago too. She told me if it was, then a customer had put it there. I pointed out to her that all the wallets were on the sale rack, and she told me they were not. I said to her that she is calling me a liar than! She said she wasn't, and I said she sure was. I then saw the original sales girl off to the side watching, as if she were worried about me talking to the manager. I asked her to tell the manager about our conversation, and how all the Sak wallets were on the sales rack marked 30% off. She looked at me, and lied straight to my face by saying to me I do not recall. I told her you must be kidding! You can't remember 1 hour ago? I told her you would make a good politician if you can lie like that. I also told her to be honest and tell the truth, and then she just stared at me. I walked away from both of them, because I don't do business with people like that, and I certainly don't deserve to be insulted, and lied to the way your employees did! If you want to stay in business, you need to rein your Sales Personnel, and Manager in at the Melbourne, Florida Mall. They should never treat customers the way they did me!
