Last week I had an issue with my a/c system. I called Morris/Jenkins because they could come fairly quickly and take a look. Their tech showed up and found the issue. That's when everything took a turn for the worse. The evaporative coil was leaking so we had water in our catchpan and the Freon had leaked out. He put stop-leak into the coil, recharged the coolant, and made the system start working again. The problem was with the amounts that he charged. For 2 minutes of cleaning out the overflow liquid, he charged $180! I was not home at the time so my wife ok'd it! He also wanted to charge $1400 to replace the coil that was covered under warranty and Lennox was willing to pay $500 for labor. That means that he was expecting almost $2000 for two hours of labor! If that's not ridiculous, then I do not know the meaning of the word! I checked with another vendor and they were willing to install the new coil for the $500 that Lennox was going to pay. Theft is all I can say about that! Always get a second opinion before you allow this company to do any work on your HVAC system!
