Bad Customer Service – Meat Manager Jim

I went to Nick's this morning (10:30 am) and purchased a rack of baby back ribs. Came straight home and refrigerated them until 3:30 pm. When I opened them they had a stench, so I called to see if I can return them. Jim (Meat Manager) said, he was sure there was nothing wrong with them, but to return to the store so he can check. Upon my arrival, (20 minutes) he met me just before the meat section, (perhaps so other customers cannot witness) took my bag, and said the meat was warm, (really a 20 minute ride), he smelled them and told me they were fresh, so I smelled them again, same stench. He said he would not take them back, or exchange them. OK fine, I approached a stranger at check-out and asked her if she would please smell them and let me know if she thought they were fresh..........she sniffed and immediately cringed and said yuck, they are definitely not fresh! One cashier said she didn't want to smell them, (I specifically didn't ask any employee so as to not put them in an awkward position). another suggested I speak with the manager. I told her I had and he seems to think they are fresh. I asked for a trash can so I can throw them away and was told to use the one outside, I refused because I wanted everyone to get a whiff of the stench (maybe I was wrong for this). The ribs had not even hit the bottom of the can before an employee yelled to another - get them out of here now (hmmmmmm). The slab was only $12.93, it's not like I purchased 50 slabs and was looking for a refund...............
