I purchased a Yard Machine Weed Wacker Y2510 last year. A few days ago I went to start it and the starter pull cable locked up. I was told by tech support that this is a consumable item and was only warrantied for 30 days?? How can a heavy nylon cable be a consumable item? All you do is pull it. This seems like a scam because lawn care equipment should last for more than a year. Stay away from Yard Machine products. Probably stay away from MTD as well since they represent the product. User's recommendation: Stay away,unless you have money to throw away.
