I have leased a car with Lexautolease 2 years ago and my contract with them ends on 20th December 2019 . as an inexperienced client, I started writing emails and contacting them, asking for information on the returns process and removing my cherished plate, however, did not receive a response from them until 26th November. when they advised me to fill out a DVLA form and pay a fee then they can proceed with putting my private reg on retention and then collect the car from me. I have sent them the signed form and money on 5th December sand they have submitted to DVLA on 9th (3 days delay). I have received a confirmation email from them on Saturday 14th November saying private reg is on retention, I called them up on Monday 16th to book the collection but they said sorry we don't have availability until 31st December and you have to pay the extra charges for extension per day. f I had heard from them sooner, or if they have submitted my DVLA form without delaying it for 3 days, I would have been able to return the vehicle before entering the informal period. But now, I strongly believe that this is their trick to get more money out of their customers by the end of their contracts. This is very unfair, unethical and illegal and needs to be stopped. style="
