An extremely unpleasant and frustrating experience

1

During our recent visit to Margate, we decided to start looking early for accommodation for the next Christmas holiday in order to book and confirm everything well in advance. Our search lead us to Anchorage Holiday Accommodation, which seemed to be extremely suitable as we were quite a large group which wanted to go together. I received all the relevant details from Angelique Howard who also indicated that it was in order to book and pay a commitment fee by 31 January 2010 with the balance of the deposit due by the beginning of November. After being in daily (written) contact with her, she calmly advised us on 29 January that the cottage reserved by us was now booked by someone else and that we could no longer book it for December. We decided to step down and accepted another cottage. Now, she also insists that a certain amount be paid monthly towards the deposit and that the previous arrangement is no longer to her liking. I have all her promises and confirmations in writing and fail to understand how paying customers can be treated in this way, especially changing the conditions of the booking when and how she likes it.
