Acurite Customer Service

Bought an Acurite digital thermometer yesterday and decided to test the calibration. I installed the batteries per instructions in the remote unit and then the base station and left the remote inside next to the base. I wanted to see if the same temperature and humidity would be represented on the base station for both the indoor and outdoor readings. After 24 hours there was still a six degree variance for indoor vs outdoor temperature. 15% variance for indoor vs outdoor humidity. They should have been identical. I called customer support number on the user manual and received a recording the number was no longer in service but a new number was given. I called it at 2:30PM on 2/28/2018 and the recorded message indicated I was 28th in line. I had plenty to do in my office so I left my phone on speaker. At 4:30 I was 9th in line. It is now 5:00PM and I am still 9th. I guess customer service went home at 4:30. Any company that operates like this has a very short corporate life expectancy.
