“97 Scamp 16′ Standard Far from Pissed

4

I purchased a good-looking on the outside 16' Scamp Standard basically third hand. I had quite a few repairs that were normal for something 19 years old. Thermostat/regulator on hot water heater, rebuilt 3-way refrigerator, 12 volt and 110 volt elements were bad, shower drain pump was replaced. All trailer wiring had to be traced to figure out two previous owners jury rigging. Installed12.5 into existing mount for a 10kw unit mounted in of all places, where the port-a-potty would normally have been stowed in a Scamp without the built-in shower/toilet arrangement. The first owner was very clever in engineering this modification along with mounting a 6.5kw Onan on the trailer's tongue. I've recut the wheel wells to eliminate the 13" factory wheels and tires to make room for 14" replacements. Even with the nominal repairs I've been so impressed with Scamp, while visiting my sister in Indiana, I drove up to Backus, Minnesota to tour the Scamp Factory, pick-up some parts and salivate over the 19' Deluxe! I did this because I live in my 16 footer and could use the extra room while travelling, my plans were side-tracked from sticker shock at $26,888.00 is kind of out of my league on disability income! Hopefully for the time being? Beautiful well built trailer otherwise! Hate to be the only person Not complaining but, I would buy a the 19 foot Deluxe immediately if I had the funds!
