I received an $8000 bill during the Arctic blast in February in Texas. The company is only willing to let me pay $662 + my regular charges to pay this off over 12 months. They will not consider re-rating my kWh to a lower amount. They are charging me $2.663 per kWh. I signed a new contract to go forward at only 7.74 cents per kwh. I have filed a complaint with the PUC because they are price gouging me for Feb. which is illegal in Texas. User's recommendation: Make sure you are always on a contract.
