cashing a check written on the bank.

2

On Saturday October 12th I took my granddaughter to the Bank of Oklahoma on State Street in Muskogee, OK. to cash a check written on the Bank of Oklahoma from her school. She has a state issued Cherokee Nation ID card with her picture on it that she has always used as an ID, even for Federal things, we was told it was not an acceptable ID that she needed to get a state issued ID to cash her check. Which kind of upset us because her Cherokee Nation Card is a state issued ID, but we said ok. We got her a regular ID from the State of Oklahoma and we went back to Muskogee, we live in Westville, nearly two hours away, so we go to the Bank of Oklahoma on YorK Street where they tell us her State issued ID is no good because she hasn't had it for 90 days and her Cherokee Nation iD can't be used as a secondary ID. We also had her birth certificate and social security card but the lady wouldn't even look at them, So my granddaughter has a check to pay for school stuff that is worthless because your bank won't cash it. We are seriously considering hiring a lawyer, for one thing it is discrimination to not accept a legal ID from the Indian department, that even the federal goverment recognizes as an ID and second who ever heard of a State issued ID not being valid for 90 days. This is a check written on your bank!
