Beware of Franklin Collection and AT&T

After cancellation of AT&T Uverse we returned the Modem. AT&T Closed the account 60 Days later and never notified us that they never checked the Modem back in. 6 Month later we get a collection notice from Franklin Collection. Never knowing how this works we called AT&T and they took payment. We thought the matter closed. 2 Months later Franklin Collection sent another notice. We checked and AT&T credited the payment back because the account was closed. We paid Franklin Collection promptly, but now they state their policy is to not remove the collection from our credit. Score dropped 100 points because of a $165 AT&T Screw UP. Shame on them for not having a way to get this removed. I will be sending them a letter and also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will also write the Consumer Protection Agency with a complaint. This is Criminal!
