Bad Owner/Management-bad policy

I'm incredibly irritated by the treatment (and policy) at RE-SAILS HOOLEY shop in Newport, RI. I'm not one to complain but the treatment I received from the manager there defies business logic. I tried to exchange a wine bag (with tag) for a champagne bag. No, I don't have the receipt as it is a gift and I don't want the giver to think I am unappreciative but I offered her the giver's name as we're both locals. Nope, said she didn't care what I could do, no receipt, no exchanges and tossed the bag back at me. She also told me to go ahead and post a bad review because she doesn't care. The fact I know the owner? She laughed and smugly said, "So do I". In today's retail environment that's pretty bold. So there you have it, if you donate sails to them or shop there or online, think twice. Their message to me? This is not a business that needs Newport, RI support. My husband sent a private message to the owner offering to keep this to ourselves if he had a word with the manager. The owner has chosen not to reply and address the situation.
