Agree and explain fix if you choose

Since you tried five times and I needed to replace our Levolor, I decided to fix the problem. The newer Lowe's Levolor are either made incorrectly or the brackets have not been modified to work with the newer Lowes' Levolor. We found out Lowes has their own Levolor numbering system and they warranty the Levolor they sell, so I don't know if non-Lowes Levolor have the same problem. We just replaced a Lowes Levolor we bought six years ago. Since I installed the last Lowes' Levolor and was now just replacing it with another Lowes' Levolor, I can tell you it's not the same. I had zero problem snapping in the original Lowes' Levolor and I found it impossible to snap in the new blind to the existing brackets. I thought that, perhaps, the new Loew's Levolor had slightly modified brackets to work with the new Levolor. Apparently, they are not, because I could barely get one new bracket to "click in" without the bracket mounted AND I USED A LOT OF FORCE to finally get it to click in.) There was no way I could mount this Levolor on three installed brackets without widening groove on the top rail of the Levolor or modifying the brackets, because the slot in the top of the blind into which you must snap the bracket is too narrow. The FIX: I decided to modify the slot in the top rail. I marked the three spots on the blind top rail in line with where the existing brackets were mounted in the window. I used a tool with a cutting disc (you could also sand this edge fairly easily, too) and widened the groove SLIGHTLY by trimming the edge that the bracket hooks onto. Go slow and test fit the clamp each time until it just does fit with some, but not too much, force. If you mess up you can simply change where the brackets mount slightly and try again. It is a pain, but it's not rocket science. Just go slow. User's recommendation: Tell Lowes of your concerns when you buy them and see if they are aware of the problem. If they aren't, refer them to the complaints.
