Below is an email I sent to your Red Roof location referenced above. This place is a dive. I feel you should know what is happening at your locations. I have stayed at several other Red Roof Inn's and never had this much trouble. I do know things happen but there was a new issue everyday of our stay. My  brother and I came to Kalamazoo to be with family after our Aunt passed away.  He booked us a room for two nights through priceline at your Red Roof location.  When we got there to check in the person at the desk asked for his credit card which he thought was for  verification. But later found out they charged him for the room again.    We were checked into room 141.  We unloaded our car and then realized that the heater in the room  wasn't working.  My brother went back to the office and after about 30 minutes they put us in room 145. The next day My brother checked his account and realized that he had been charged by Priceline and Red Roof for the two nights.  He went to the office and after a long ordeal was refunded the extra nights.   On Friday morning we decided to stay till Sunday.  Due to the condition of the hotel and the  problems we had already had,   we contemplated moving to another hotel but really didn't want to pack up, load and unload the car so decided to stay at your hotel for the additional nights.  I went to the office and paid for the additional nights.  When we got  back to the room at 11:45 pm Friday the beds were not made; all the sheets, pillows and blankets were piled in the middle of one bed.  I always bring my own pillow when I travel and they had taken the pillow case from it as well as the other sheets and pillows.  We called the desk and she came down with clean sheets.  I had to help her make the beds and she was unable to locate my pillow case.  My brother contacted the office the next day and they said they had no record of me paying for additional nights and that is why the bed wasn't made or the room cleaned..  He had to leave a family gathering to come back to the hotel with the payment receipt to prove we paid for the room.  The person he was dealing with finally realized my payment had been posted to another room.  At this point we thought everything was cleared up.  That night when we returned to the room at 10::30 pm the room had not been cleaned and my pillowcase was still missing.  The treatment we received and the condition of the hotel is totally unacceptable.   The bedspreads were stained our trash was never emptied,   the toilet stool ran all the time, the heater in the first room didn't work, there was a car sitting out in front of the building with the snow piled up on it the whole time we were there and the trunk was tied half shut.. We should have just asked for our money back after the room with the heater not working  it was late and we had been driving all day.  We really didn't think there would be a new problem each day.  I do feel we deserve some kind of compensation for all the issues we encountered as well as for my pillowcase.  It was part of a sheet set and I now I won't be able to have matching pillowcases. I have traveled a lot and never ever have I had this many problems with a hotel.  Something needs to be done about this as soon as possible.  You can reach me at this email or my phone number [protected]..  If I don't get some quick satisfaction I will be calling the Better Business Bureau as well as Red Roof Corporate office.  I do not want a free night stay at your hotel due to our recent experience and the fact we will not be back in that area.
