Spoiled Wedding Day
2020. In May, we chose Kukotava to make our own wedding cake. We met with the owner Charlotte Thomson, who offered to taste different cake variants and listened to our wishes. We showed you a picture with the desired cake look. Charlotte said that there is no problem to make one - a three-story white cake with blue ribbons around each layer of cake. About 3 months after the wedding, Charlotte offered to make a smaller test cake. We agreed to this offer and in June we received a small trial cake exactly as we ordered. Satisfied with the test cake, we confirmed the date and time of the wedding. When the wedding week had arrived, we arrived in Kukotava to pay and confirm the final order. Unfortunately, Charlotte herself was not, because she was on vacation. The guy at the checkout pulled out an A4 page where our order was written, but the time of the order does not know why it was indicated at 17. 00. After our reprimand, the guy corrected this time to 2. 30 pm as we had planned. We paid the money and left. On the wedding day, in order not to burden the guests, we ordered a taxi, which had to pick up the cake at 14. 30 in Kukotava and at 15. 00 from the church flowers, and all this, in order not to be damaged, immediately take us to the guest house outside Brisbane. It was a very unpleasant surprise that at 15. 15 a taxi was not yet at the church to pick up the donated flowers. Calling the taxi driver, it turned out that he was waiting in Kukotava, because the cake would be ready at 17. 00... So the taxi driver waited for the cake until it baked, but had to put the flowers in the guest cars and drive a couple of hours in the heat with the young couple with all the consequences. But that, of course, did not end Kukotava's "pleasant" surprises... When the wedding cake was brought to the guest house, it turned out to be simply a white cake with a few blue flowers. The bride, who diligently and carefully tuned the compositions and colors of all the decorations for 5 months, was led to tears. Returning from the honeymoon, a week later we visited Kukotava with claims, where we also met Charlotte Thomson herself. To our claims, she replied that the confectioner had simply not noticed the corrected time on the page. Charlotte said about the appearance of the cake and, returning from the kitchen, announced that the blue decorative flowers were still in the box, but could not say anything about the blue ribbons. An investigation will be carried out. Charlotte asked to be sent pictures of the cake and offered to make a cake for the stall. Unfortunately, after sending the pictures, Charlotte no longer picked up the phone for 2 weeks and retired to make a living with her own cake.
