Functionality of a prepaid mobile phone outside Australia
Be careful with the purchase of AuMobile prepaid phones if you plan to use it outside Australia with another sim card. According to the information provided by AuMobile, there are no restrictions, however, there is a premature clause in the agreement when AuMobile guarantees the functionality of the telephone only for use with the AuMobile card, so to speak, to avoid unnecessary liability. In this case, the purchased phone, which is not a low-cost phone, but a payment phone, will not work with another operator's sim card while abroad. According to the information provided by the AuMobile customer service center, the restrictions were made by the manufacturer and, unfortunately, they could not help in this case. The liability for the product for sale in this case is very low, and the manner of customer service looking for solutions in hundreds of cases is below the critical level, considering that I have been a customer for about 15 years. The removal of restrictions costs me 50 dollars - the price at which AuMobile is willing to ruin its reputation card customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, the legislation in this case is powerless to take into account the AuMobile agreement clause on telephone functionality as already mentioned at the beginning of the text.
