DISSATISFACTION OF QUALITY OF FURNITURE PURCHASED
In the month of October 2020 I Mrs. Dawn Bouverie purchased a 4 piece lounge set to the value of R16299.00 cash at House & Home (Izotsha Mall). In January 2019 I went to complain to the salesman from whom I made the purchase with that the two seater couch was damaged (the planks were coming off). In the same month of January 2020 I laid another complaint regarding the single reclining couch as the leaver was not functioning properly. (It would get stuck not allowing the foot rest to function. I was then asked to bring the couch in so that they could send it back to the warehouse. I then informed them that I do not have transportation to bring the said item. They then arranged for it to be picked up. They then returned the said items after two/three weeks. Upon their return of the said furniture I then checked to see if they were replaced in the presence of the delivery boys, only to find that they were not fixed. the delivery boys then said, I Quote, " Sissie, don't take these couches back as we are getting many complaints. I then complained again in the month of May. They took a while to come and pick up the couches after I had complained. They eventually came and collected the whole lounge set for fixing and upon return of the couches I was still not happy as it seemed as though nothing was done. I went again to complain about my dissatisfaction with the quality of the couches and the service received. The manager of the store then told me that there is nothing that can be done since the warranty is now over which was now after October. In November they came to pickup the couches for fixing and to date the single recliner has not been returned. I do not understand how does he come to the conclusion that there is nothing they can do whereas I have complained several times way before the expiration date of the warranty. It is no fault of mine that it has passed the expiration date as they were incompetent in dealing with the matter.
