Exchange policy not obeyed

I purchased items at Edgars on account last month, When I got home the clothes didn't fit and unfortunately I lost the receipt. Yesterday on the 18-04-2021 I visited an Edgars branch in Pretoria Mams Mall to exchange the clothes. The cashier who assisted me did the exchange but the problem occurred, where the system allowed her to return the items one by one not all at once. She then called in the manager by the name Lizzy to assist in returning all of the items at once on the system. Lizzy asked me where did I buy the clothes, I told her and she literally refused to assist me, she told that I should go back to the branch where I bought the clothes to make an exchange there. Even though I told her about the Edgars exchange policy, she insisted with an attitude that they can't make exchanges for items bought from other branches if I don't have a receipt. I am an account holder at Edgars and I am very sad/unhappy with the service I received especially from the manager Lizzy. I had to go back home with the clothes I can't even use.
