I called Ava's on the 12th of April thinking I was calling a LOCAL florist. I explained my situation, asked that flowers be delivered as closely to the 20th as possible, and the CSR acknowledged my intent. She asked that she be permitted to enter the delivery date as the 13th to allow a window up until the 20th. I agreed. She quoted the charges. I felt uncomfortable, but again agreed. I did research. Within 3 hours, I tried to cancel the order. I was told the flowers were en route, and cancelling was not an option. The flowers are now baking in the sun in Maryland (it is the 15th) and I wanted them fresh on the 20th. I filed 4 complaints before getting a call back. The CSR and I seemed to speak different languages. After explaining my disappointment and reasons for it TWICE, she left me with silence. I received no compensation, no adjustment, nothing more that sorry you aren't happy. I'll go to my grave screaming STAY AWAY FROM AVA'S. Beginning with the advertisements, it's deception at every turn. Oh, the free delivery? fuggedaboudit.
