Amazon prime video streaming service

Twice this past month, while halfway through a "Free to You" series, Amazon Prime suddenly wants to charge $1.99 per episode. One series had 48 episodes. Who is paying almost $100 to watch a series on Amazon Prime? This is like a drug dealer giving you a few free samples and then charging you once you are hooked. There has to be some law against changing the price once someone starts watching. If a consumer begins a "Free to You" series, all episodes should be free unless there is a notice stating that after a certain episode there is a charge. Changing from "free" to $1.99 per episode midway through a series is unethical.
