I was so disappointed to find that my Eddie Bauer winter boots fell apart after 1 season. They were by far the best winter boots I have ever owned except for the design flaw with the zipper. Deeply regret they had to be sent back because they were so comfortable and rugged. User's recommendation: Check the zipper before buying to determine if the boot will age poorly to create a buckle in the ankle area.
