They messed up my van.
2
I decided to try out Take 5 instead of my usually place Jiffy Lube. This was the worst mistake I could have ever made. First, the guy told me I had a minor oil leak around the pan. I was shocked because this van hardly move for weeks sometimes. So, I went back to my house to check and see if any oil was on the ground there wasn't any even though the van had been sitting in the same spot for weeks. I have my own business and I only use this van when we go on trips. This van get serviced when needed. We went to North Carolina the same day we got the oil changed. I had 3 elderly people with me and my fiancé. On the way back the trip turned detrimental. The van started running hot and we had to get off the interstate on a dark side road. The van started smoking under the hood so much. We waited on the side of the road for 30 minutes. We could not turn on the van because when we did it started smoking again. It was cold and I had 3 elderly people I am responsible for. I tried to start the van and it would not start. I waited almost 45 minutes and it started up and I made it to the nearest gas station. Unfortunately the gas station wasn't open, but we found a water faucet. The van was smoking badly. I waited and lifted up the hood and took the top off the radiator. We poured water in it and the water started leaking out. We found another gas station close by that was opened 24 hours. I literally had to run the red light because I was scared the van was going to shut off because it started making some noise. I made it to the gad station and my fiancé went in and brought radiator sealant and a case of bottled water. We put several bottles of water in the van and the sealant. The noise was so loud leaving the gas station a man looked at me and was like are you gong to make it. My van wasn't making any noises before I took it to Take 5. I drove until it started running hot again and I pulled over at another gas station. We had to sit there over an hour. Luckily a guy heard me trying to start the van and he was a mechanic and he checked it and said I didn't have any water in it. I told him I had it checked before we came and everything was good he said no it couldn't be at safe levels as it stated on my receipt. He put water in it and he said it didn't look good. When we had to wait on the van to cool off and start we didn't have any heat luckily my clients had their jackets. We got back on the interstate and tried to make it back to Georgia with no luck. The van started slowing down when we started going up the hill and it finally died. I did make it to the side of the road out of the street. WE was 59 miles from our home (Augusta). I called my insurance company and they tow for free under 50 miles after that I am responsible. I called a towing company and they charge 300 dollars to tow me back to Augusta. I didn't have a choice, but to call a towing company near Lexington since that is where the van shut down completely. I had my van towed to the nearest shop there. I told him what happened and he stated that when something mess up it can be like a chain reaction it effects other things. I haven't had this van a year. It was a gift to me by my mother for my business. I have every receipt where I took my van to get serviced at Jiffy Lube. This one mistake is costing me over $7,000 dollars. The mechanic called me today and it will cost me over $7,000 dollars to get my van fixed. I called the next day March 22,2021 and talked to Joe the service manager. He told me that they didn't top off any fluids nor did they check them. I told him that it states on my receipt that everything was at safe levels. So how do they know that if they didn't check? He told me they just looked at it but didn't touch anything!!!!! Really! How do you visually look and see if the there is transmission fluid in a car? How do you visually look at fluids if there is a stick?? He said he looked at the cameras and nothing was touched only what needed to be touched to do the oil change I will definitely see someone from Take 5 in small claims court. I am out of a van that I need for my business. I haven't had this van a year User's recommendation: DO NOT GO TO TAKE 5. THEY WILL MESS UP YOUR CAR.
