Humiliation by store staff
2
Having regularly shopped at the Brigwater store. I often purchase 2 cans of hooch and 2 bottles of flavored cider for myself for the weekend. Not a big drinker but do enjoy it. Often shopping with my 2 daughter's one who is 20 the other 17. I went in tonight 16th April and the assistant kira refused to serve me because my daughters didnt have id on them ? At what point was MY shopping to do with my daughters i asked for rhe store manager Alex who was blunt and unprofessional in his manner and more interested in his staff training than helping the situation just replied with yes its challenge 25 !!! I replied with im 51. He then carried on his training. The assistant said if i carried on complaining that i couldnt have my 4 drinks she was going to refuse to serve me. I actually had £23.36 of shopping so wasnt just a flying visit for 4 drinks.. i felt very humiliated that a mere 20 odd year old young girl with a stinking attitude could question me at the age of 51 for id. And also i had to tell her to put her fsce mask on which was also infuriating as she kept putting it on and off to belittle me in her manner and also she went to ask for help from a young chap that i know was 17 so he wasnt much use to her as he wouldn't even be able to serve me anyway without a dps present. I shall not be returning to B& M in bridgwater again i would rather travel the 14 miles or so to taunton and be treated by better well mannered staff. I feel very bitter as this has never been an issue before and i have done this most fridays. But all of a sudden its your company policy to id every person at the till with a single transaction taking place A very unhappy Lorna white User's recommendation: Don't go to Bridgwater store.
