Issue with a car rental

Rented a car through Fox with Priceline. My itinerary changed. Call Priceline to make the change. Told me only company you could change it was Fox. Called Fox created a new itinerary with the same confirmation number. Called to pick up a day early not possible. Called Priceline to see what they could do they thought the original order was in place still. Was told to call Fox to resolve. Call Fox I told to call Priceline to resolve. I need to know how a reservation that could not be changed got changed and who did it. All I get now is finger-pointing when I talk to either company. User's recommendation: Do not use Priceline or Fox Rent A Car ever for anything.
