Trying to get my phone unlocked

I would like to unlock my LG phone to use any provider because I have a chatter provider I bought this phone off of friend of mine so I did not know it was locked to a certain provider and I would really appreciate if you guys can give me the unlock pin number cuz when I put in a SIM card it says unlock so if you guys could do that for me that be wonderful thank you
