Quantum batteries leaked acid in several devices after very little use (sometimes weeks). Even before use in original packaging and years before expiration date. Spoke to Irma in Customer service, she indicated; the leaking acid was a "SAFETY FEATURE" for pressure build up, it depends on how the batteries were handled before and after purchase, not a Duracell quality issue. She said device damage can be claimed (you have to make a claim with Customer Service and ship the damaged devices to Duracell along with the batteries, so keep it all if you want to do this). Unfortunately, as this happened over that last several months here and there to me, I threw out the devices along the way except the one I found today which got me to the point of calling Duracell. Duracell indicated they have stopped production of the Quantum series, but passes the issue off as Irma stated above. They will NOT replace unused Quantum batteries that have not yet leaked even though the product has been discontinued. Finding this out, I immediately started removing all Quantum batteries from other devices. I found yet another device (LED light string) STILL WORKING but batteries leaking inside!!! I don't have the time to keep inspecting batteries in use to avoid damage to my devices and do not want to risk even more damage. Their motto: "Trust is power". Based on the call to Customer Service, I personally don't trust their product to not damage devices any longer. After being a customer for over 30 years, I am switching to another brand.
