When OptumRx screws up, it costs me money

2

Issue #1: OptumRX only contacts my Doctor once and allows only 48 to verify a prescription. If they start the clock on a Friday afternoon, it will expire on Sunday afternoon. By the time staff sees the request Monday morning, the order has been canceled. When the Doctor calls to approve the order, it is applied to the next order 90 days out. I missed a 90 day order, and THEY DO NOTHING WHEN I COMPLAIN except customer service lip service (out of stock; back ordered). Now I have to go to a local pharmacy and pay them for meds which should have been covered by my insurance through OptumRx. Issue #2: OptumRx called my wife to confirm her first order. They identified the medication in Capsule form instead of Tablet. My wife said that the order was wrong. They were to contact the Doctor to verify, but the Capsule order shipped anyway. The capsules cost $130+ while the tablets were free - covered by insurance. There is no resolution. She has to pay the $130+ before she can get the next order as Tablet. User's recommendation: Your Doctor needs to be pro-active when dealing with OptumRx. They are not reliable enough to assume they get it right.
