Thread bare?

We just bought a Lane recliner at Kirkland's. It cost nearly $500. We have it for approximately 4 months. We include my husband and me, no children or pets in the house to blame for any damage. I noticed that the seat was, "threadbare". The normal seating in terms of any kind of abuse does not make sense. I sent an email, possibly two, to Lane Customer Service. I did not receive a response. My question, why is this happening? What can I do? User's recommendation: Be aware!
