Terrible on repair warantees
1
I am 80 years old. My husband is 85 and very disabled. We purchased a reclining-lift chair for him as he can not stand up after sitting, on his own. I purchased a 5 year repair warantee on the chair. We have had big problems with it for some time, now. A month or more ago, I called repair. They came and decided they needed to order parts to repair it. I have called and am not allowed to talk to anyone in management. Today, I called again. I was told sometimes it takes up to 90 DAYS to obtain a repair. I told them this wasn't a lamp or such. It is a VERY much NEEDED lift chair, a necessity! I was told the parts were in and the repair had told them they called me. I did NOT receive a call or a message! I am still waiting. This is not a luxury item; it is a necessity!!! Surely a company as well known and as big as Star Furniture could do much better than this. I feel HELPLESS! If the chair completely goes out on it after jerking and making weird sounds, what am I to do? I will not be able to get my husband out of the chair. User's recommendation: Before you purchase an extended warantee, ask how long it may take in order to obtain service.
