Ride Now Bike Store in Concord, NC

We dropped our bike off at approximately 8:30 in the morning. We were told it would take 1 hour approximately. Knowing that it would take awhile and we wanted to register to vote on Corban Ave. I drove behind my husband so we could register to vote in downtown Concord. The waiting area we noticed yesterday, (Friday) had coffee and popcorn but we wanted to eat breakfast food and have the opportunity to get our registration to vote done. Incidentally we drove on the motorcycle earlier in the morning to make sure our battery was okay...we had just replaced that the day prior. This is important to show that we both had ridden on the bike prior to dropping the bike off for the tire change. At approximately, 10 am, my husband and I arrived back at the RideNow shop. We paid for our purchase at 10:24 am. My husband got on the bike, I returned to our car and we went home to drop off our car and feed the dog before our mini- motorcycle trip to the Waterworks Art Museum for my students art show opening. It is a semi-casual event but planned to ride our bike. It is a once a year event but my husbands first time scheduled to attend. At approxiamtely 12:20 pm we were all ready to go. My husband started the bike as I waited to get on. He said are you ready honey, I said yes, I attempted to get on the bike. At this moment, we noticed one of the passenger footpegs was snapped off. There was still one ball bearing inside. The passeneger foot pedal was on the bike in the morning when we drove the bike in. My husband went back to the RideNow store with positive thoughts that they would either fix it or something. Sometimes, things happen and we are reasonable people. Incidentially, when my husband went back, the department said it that they couldn't help my husband and I he left to search out the part, pay money for something that we should not have had to do and our plans for the day and weekend were null and void. Not even a kind gesture was made on the associate in your establishment. I am also inclined to possibly believe that it could be a form of discrimination. I am an italian female and my husband is African American and Native American indian. I say this because the associate said that made no attempt to aid us in what was not broken when we dropped it off. I didn't notice any African American Sales associate or others today in the store and I surely hope it wasn't for this reason. But, I don't want to confuse the point at hand. I am writing to say my husband and I have friends of many colors and creeds who have bikes here, Charlotte, Greensboro etc. We are a memeber of a club and surely want to feel our business and money supporting a business is valued. We might of spent only 199.00 today but we want to feel our business is important either small or large. Surely, if we left today this way our business is not appreciated at all. It is the establishments that value each and every customer, not just the bike purchases and our money is valued somewhere. I am unhappy to say we will be taking our business elsewhere, for there are many other bike places in the greater Charlotte area and beyond that will value our business and all of our friends business in the future.
