Lack of customer service/miscommunication

A couple of weeks ago, I requested a free new phone and plan from Affinity cellular. This was due to an ad I came across on West ways(a reputable AAA magazine). An agent with the company had informed me that the phone I requested has the massive amount of internal storage I was seeking. When the phone arrived, the storage in question was not to be as it contained far less than I was informed. I contacted and spoke to another agent(it appears most are outsourced)with limited English who informed me to return the product, so my card could be credited for the full amount charged upon receipt. The phone eventually made it back quickly to Affinity but when it came to my refund, that's where all *** broke loose. Several agents I spoke with subsequently couldn't get their facts straight. One said I was entitled to a full refund, another debunked that notion stating I was entitled to some refund. This obviously caused me to be upset so I then asked to speak to a supervisor. Mind you, my entire time with the agents was of a rude nature towards me. Not by voice raising but by being nonchalant, giving me the run around and keeping me on hold for lengthy periods. When I finally got to speak to someone I thought was the supervisor, service was the same. Rather than easing my frustration and offering full credit, this so-called wacko doubled down and not only defended the actions of team members I dealt with, but offered to refund a third of what I'd been charged. When I asked what the reasoning behind actions taken were, I was told it's the policy of Affinity cellular to charge for the service rendered even though I never utilized their service to begin with. Also, the device I requested was promptly returned. I repeated my dismay, but this agent didn't seem to care. The call was terminated soon afterwards. User's recommendation: Affinity Cellular is a fraud. They lack customer service and it appears miscommunication is the norm within that company.
