Unethical decision-making

1

We had a supplemental medicare insurance policy with USAA, donut hole coverage. My wife passed away and they sent a check to me for her unused portion of the insurance. The problem is that they made the check out to her estate. So in order to cash the check, there must be an estate account. This needs to be done through the courts. This means hiring an attorney. It would cost double the check amount to hire the attorney. Why would I do that? They have devised a great way to steal their member's money. User's recommendation: Do not trust them. VERY unethical.
