Update by user Feb 09, 2019 I contacted the hotel which didn't have my reservation. Then contacted the URL Reservationdesk.com. I cancelled my reservation and they returned my money, all but a small fee. I now have to; want to, work directly with the hotel and the conference people. Expect to take care of that soon. Update by user Feb 09, 2019 After finding the hotel didn't have the reservation # cited, I was able to contact the company and cancel the reservation and have my money returned (most of it.) Now will have to, want to, work directly with the hotel. Original review posted by user Jan 10, 2019 I signed for a reservation. I called the hotel and asked for reservations. I was given to a 3rd party booking agent ReservationDesk.com. It's also known under other URLs and phone numbers. They don't give the reservation to the hotel. Because my reservation was early to be sure to get a room for an important conference, I was, by the third party, charged a higher price, and was not booked in as part of the conference block. I found this out because I saw that they had taken out the full amount from my credit card 5 months before the date of the conference. I was told by the hotel I needed to cancel the 3rd party reservation, then call the hotel again, and set up a new reservation for the conference. The hotel tells me this is an ongoing issue with call centers fraudulently working as if they are connected to the hotel when they are not.
