Quality Construction in Totowa & W Caldwell will steal your money

4/13/15 – signed contract and paid required deposit of $3,700. Was told there is a six week back up and Eric (technician) will call to schedule a date. Quality Construction would obtain all permits prior to the start date. 5/20 – Eric called agreed to June 17 and said he would drop off materials 2 – 3 weeks before the start date. 5/29 – sent text to Eric stating we scheduled vacation for the week of June 17 in order to be onsite for the job. Asked when the delivery of materials would begin. No reply. 5/30 – Called Eric’s cell phone, left a voice message similar to the previous day’s text. No reply. 5/31 – Texted Eric stating the driveway is clear for material drop off. No reply. 6/10 – Called the Quality Construction office (201.657.5310) and spoke with the secretary who confirmed a June 17 start date. 6/17 – No one showed. Called Eric, left message. No reply. • Went to the South Plainfield Borough Hall to determine if a permit application was filed and confirmed no permit application was requested.• Called Central Supply and asked if materials we selected were purchased, they were not.• Called Quality Construction office and spoke with the Brianna. She was to call Eric and then return our call, but never did. 6/18 – Called Quality Construction office to cancel the contract. The secretary stated she could not find the contract and would call Eric to see if he had it. Brianna asked how much our deposit was and said she would speak to Eric about a refund and then call us back, but she never did. 6/19 – Called Quality ofice. The secretary tried to reach Eric while Rich waited on hold. She said she would call back as soon as she was able to contact Eric. 4 pm – Called office again. The secretary said she had spoken with Eric and that he would call right back. No call ever came. 6/22 – Called Quality office and spoke with secretary asking for the status of the return of our deposit. She said she would reach out to the owner Jurita Rustemlliu, and that she would call back either today or tomorrow.6/24 – called Quality office on both their local number 201.657.5310 and their toll-free 888.815.2550 and our number was blocked. When calling from a different phone, the secretary picked up. Told the secretary if we didn’t received our money back we would call the Better Business Bureau, Dept of Consumer Affairs, Home Advisor (online referral agency) and seek legal counsel.6/25 – Received a phone call from Gazzi, Eric’s cousin, phone 201.815.6003 at 7:16 pm. Gazzi offered to complete the job (no work had ever begun). We told him we were not comfortable in working with Quality Construction due to the severe lack of communication. Also stated we just want our money returned. Gazzi said he would speak with Eric and get back to us. But he never did.6/29 – Gazzi said he would tell Eric to send a check.7/2 – 12:10 pm called Gazzi and left a message stating the recourse we are forced to take.7/2 – Called Home Advisor 877.800.3177 initiating a complaint. Home Advisor is worthless, as noted in my online complaint about them.
