Non Refund of Cruise Deposit

Took two days to get through to Carnival Cruise to cancel my trip. They told me flat out no refunds were to be given. I was given the option for a credit only. I feel I should have the option to be refunded or accept the credit. Not pleased at all with customer service. Could not even give a conformation number to show cruise was cancelled. In times like this I would think they would be more proactive to help the customer
