Nitro 12 Gauge Shotgun misfires

1

I purchased a nitromag 12 ga. Shotgun and it malfunctioned/misfired on multiple huints, even after remington supposedly repaired it. I paid for 3 different hunts of which all were disasters due to faulty shotgun. I even purchased a remington 870 supermag to use while the nitromag was being repaired. After the second attempt to repair did not work, I told remington I wanted a different gun. If anyone would like to see the photos of the shells that were misfired or see the entire string of emails back and forth, please email me and I will be happy to send the entire string. Below is my final letter sent to remington after a series of bad service: Gentlemen, I just got off the phone with foster. I am more than a little irritated that my gun has been there for 2 weeks and nothing has been done. I emailed 8 days ago following up on the gun and never received a response (see email string below). I call this morning and am informed that remington is awaiting my receipt so a refund can be issued. I do not recall a refund ever being discussed, only that I would be informed what remington would do to make me happy after receipt of the gun and reviewing the situation. A refund may cover the cost of the purchase, but will not cover the 3 hunts, which cost me approximately $1, 000.00, on which the shotgun malfunctioned resulting in a highly unsuccessful hunt as the gun misfired almost every third shot. After the first hunt, I thought that the problem was that I keep my trigger finger on the front of the trigger guard when carrying it (my 870 wingmaster release is on the back of the trigger guard, the 887 release is on the front) and I thought I may be slightly releasing the slide. After the second hunt, I realized the pin was actually striking the primer, but not hard enough to consistently cause it to fire. I took the gun to gander mountain and they had it for 2 weeks before informing me they had to send it back to you guys. I had 3 more hunts scheduled and was told that it would probably take 5-6 weeks to get the gun back, so I purchased 2 additional remington 870 supermags (one as a backup so this never happened to me again). I finally received my gun back and went the following week on a duck hunt in anuhuac, texas out in the middle of a marsh in pit blinds (no room for anything but your gun and an ammo box), and the same thing happens with my gun. I do not want the nitromag back as I am now the proud owner of my original 870 wingmaster that is 30 years old and is only used for dove and quail, 2 remington supermags, and an 887 nitromag that has not worked properly to dateall pump shotguns. As stated before, I am out well over $1, 000.00 in hunts (vacation time, drive time, gas and actual guided hunt costs) not to mention the related cost of the purchase of the supermags (of which I love and want to keep). If remingtons intent to remedy the situation and keep a loyal customer is credit back the money I paid for the nitromag, then so be it. I will contact academy and see if I can get a copy of the receipt of purchase for a refund from remington. You should also know that I have always been a huge remington fan and never had an issue with any of my guns (I currently own 6 remington shotguns and rifles). But after this debacle, I am entertaining switching to benelli shotguns. The salesman at both carters country & academy tried to sway me to purchase the benelli super nova, but my loyalty to remington and american products induced me to purchase remington.
