model 597 22
1
On March 19th 2017 I purchased a Remington model 597 22 from Academy sports and outdoors inEdmond Ok. When we took the gun to the range for my son to shoot{birthday present} it proceeded to fire 4-5 rounds in an automatic fashion. Very dangerous! After speaking to a service rep the firearm in question was sent to a smith to repair. When the rifle was sent back I loaded a clip and fired all rounds off just to verify the repair and put it up to be shot another day. for personal reasons we unable to sight in until today. The rifle shot off the paper by a foot! After several attempts to adjust the scope I had the same results. I tightend all the screws on the mounts and rings only to find out this could void my warranty. This weapon has had less than 20 rounds put through it and is brand new! Serial# D3021815. Service request # was613581. When I requested a refund for the weapon I was told that I had to have 3 repair attempts before a refund would be considered. I find this ridiculous. Sell a faulty firearm and not stand behind it? I will consider this a learning lesson but rest assured I will never purchase another Remington!
