I signed up for the Premium Account of MyHeritage and worked with the Website as well as the Family Tree Builder on MyDesktop. I haven chosen MyHeritage because I believe the Software is slightly better then competitors and that you better exchange Family Trees with the included Export functions. Pros: - Sharing my family tree by inviting other family members via email is really helpful. I have more than 122 relatives going back 300 years in my tree now. - I also like the smart matches. I have added at least 5 people from distance relationships and it's always fun to look into it. I sometimes wonder why I get smart matches for people in the US. Hardly anything matches but the last name. I had to decline about 30 of them. - Improving data quality from my relatives with by taking data from other public databases has worked in some incidents (3-4). In most cases, my data quality seems to be higher. - Unfortunately, the software from MyHeritage is still a bit buggy. After 4 weeks, the software and platform were not able to sync anymore. The helpdesk is very kind and responsive. However, it took as 3 months to resolve the issues and I have an IT background. Nevertheless, the Premium customer service is worth the premium membership and MyHeritage was really fair by not charging me for those 3 months. Suggested improvements: 1) All in all, I believe there should be more functions to export/print. You can hardly print any of the trees templates which are generated by the software if you have more than 8 relatives :_). I would expect that the software would try to put more data on the printouts. 2) I would hope the data added to the software can be better exported. Eg, I had two family trees which were no longer in sync. You can't just compare the two files with the help of family tree software. This shouldn't be a real challenge from an IT perspective. Doing it manually is... 3) The maps don't recognize Germany cities - no idea why 4) I believe the subscription is really expensive for the services offered so far. Not sure why though. 5) Include "MyHeritage" in your spell check on the feedback platform "Pissedconsumer.com". It's odd that the website doesn't know your company name :_)
