Horrible Cancellation Fiasco!

I was booked on the HOU TPA direct flt 3444, 06/07/19. I arrived at the gate and was told the flight had been cancelled. No prior email or text. The service agent said it was due to bad weather in Tampa. I asked, if that was the case why was the flight cancelled, instead of just delayed. He said the flights can't takeoff unless the destination weather is clear. I said yeah, so why not just delay. He couldn't answer that question. Then I looked at Tampa weather on my phone. It was clear. Something just didn't add up. He said the earliest he could get me back was 10 PM the next day. No hotel voucher (act of God), no agreements with other airlines. Later I found out that a lot of the flights in Houston were cancelled because of bad weather earlier, in Dallas. I think most other airlines would have delayed the flights, had their employees work late, and gotten everyone where they needed to go, that day. I called SW and was booked on a flight connecting through CHICAGO arriving in Tampa around 11:30 PM. I've always been a fan of Southwest. Not this time. They obviously have no contingency plan for problems like this. Probably lost my loyalty of 40 years.
