Many of my family have been traveling with Alaska... They seem to be having issues with baggage handling, so this is meant to be a warning to those who want to check in luggage with Alaska.... I want to bring up 2 instances that has happened with our family... 1) Early in 2018 my sister and niece went to Hawaii where they traveled from Denver through Seattle... The luggage was not put on the plane to Hawaii... As a frequent traveler this happens on occasion, but they were without luggage for two days which is problematic, since Alaska did not put it on the next flight ( next day ), they waited until in was convenient for them. 2) Over Thanksgiving, my Mom and Sister flew to Seattle over Thanksgiving on the way back my Moms luggage was broken ( support cracked case, wheels missing, broken zipper ) because it was run over. . After 2 hours of taking pictures which were obviously broken and the luggage cracked with wheels missing. Alaska luggage complaint department mentioned there was nothing they could do for my Mom, but there was no indication they would fix their internal problems with luggage as well They went to complain in Denver about the problem at Alaska baggage pickup but there was no personal for Alaska to deal with luggage when they arrived or even after 15 minutes.. You've been warned...
