Generac Power Washers can be made better

2

Do First, I should say have two Generac portable generators, and they have worked great since 2003 (Hurricane Isabelle). I purchased this power washer specifically do to the quality of their generators. Here we go. My Power Washer (model # 0000000100********) started to leak where the water enters to housing and flows to the hose (the seals area). I have used this PW about 6 times over the last 19 months. I checked the warranty and it has two-year warranty. I thought I was good. I called customer service and informed them what had happened. The rep was great she gave the local repair shop, but as soon as I said seals, she said "don't waste your time" valves and seals are excluded and are not covered under the warranty. This was disappointing to me for a couple of reasons. 1. Generac clearly knows their seals fail which is why they excluded them from a warranty claim. 2. Why would you sell a product with knowledge that a part an important part would fail and then exclude it from your warranty (rhetorical)? 3. The parts to fix the faulty seals are $61.00 + 11.00 stand shipping= $71.00 for a power washer that cost $359.99. That is 20% of the total cost of a new power washer. If you have a seal and a valve fail, you are looking at an approximate cost of 40% of a new washer. This is very discouraging for all the owners of your products. Not to mention if you take it to a repair shop. You might as well purchase another power washer (clearly not Generac). 4. Whoever oversees product development, why would you use inferior seals and or valves in your pressure washers? And then sell them for a few hundred to several hundred dollars to your customers? This is not being responsible to your customers. This is just plain lazy! You should use a higher quality seal and charge accordingly. My rating for this Pressure Washer is ZERO stars. Not for the machine itself, but for the people who designed a product to fail within a short period of time. Generac you can and should make better pressure washers. User's recommendation: Do not purchase any power washer from Generac until the start using better seals and valves.
