DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK

1

This communiqué is a result of a negative experience at the Parma, Ridge rd. PNC. The initial visit was simple, check cashing in the amount of 475.00: a brief wait resulted with the bank teller instructing me that there were insufficient funds; therefore the check couldn't be cashed. It was no less than an embarrassing moment and honestly, shocking, considering the check was endorsed by one of my clients whom I provide yacht services. I left troubled and immediately reached out to my client and explained the issue, he asked of the issue date on the check which was September 2019, allegedly, he said, due to bank policy, it can't be processed beyond 90 days from date of issue, therefore he would immediately send a replacement from Marko Island. The aforementioned facts, conflicting as they were, again troubled me throughout the next couple hours, I was compelled to return to PNC and speak directly with the manager, Jason Ensworth. I explained the circumstances to Jason, he asked for the check and determined that there were sufficient funds to process the check: I asked Jason if it was bank policy not to cash a check more than 90 days beyond issue date, (now came forth an obtuse attitude on behalf of Jason) his response indicated that somewhere internally it is possible that check processing could possibly be an issue, again, I asked if it was bank policy? He replied "No", whereas, I asked, initially why was I told there were insufficient funds to process the check, why was the check not cashed? At that juncture, Jason's attitude was non-empathetic and on the *** of abrasive as he told me "we are required to tell you anything" "we are not obligated to tell you why the check can't be cashed". After hearing the reply, I was speechless for what seemed like an hour but was only seconds until I collected my thoughts and replied to Jason that I would return and present multiple forms of validating identification directly to him so that he, personally, can process the closure of my accounts: he replied "Sorry you feel that way". I left, angry and upset but confident about severing business with PNC. In today's competitive markets, there are many financial institutions that would appreciate and welcome the opportunity in procuring my business. Hopefully, the time and effort in conveying my experience will assist PNC and prevent further client loss throughout the future.
