CONSUMER RIGHTS PLAINLY VULNERATED
1
5 days ago I received an alert from my credit card, immediately I recall Internations.org had offered me a free trial of Albatros membership some time ago -I stupidly accepted after 4 years of none activity or zero value added from that group- the point is that nothing new happened during that trial, I've never used it, and completely forgot. I've never got a message, and without any advise they charged 64USD to my credit card (which is a lot of money in my country). Then I said, ok, today expired, they may understand that I don't want the service, so I asked them to just cancel and refund. But sadly, they didn't have any willingness to do the right thing. The same day I sent several emails and got no positive answer, then I researched, and realized that they operated in that way as usual, ignoring the opportune customer desire. Finally, in front to such scandalous negative, I called to my bank to denounce the illegal practice. Be advised that http://www.oecd.org/index.htm and the laws in many countries protect the customer against these situations in the online market: I didn't buy a good and then refused to pay, I received an announce of a service that will be provided, and billed in advance, then I opportunely communicated my disagree. They don't have excuses, they have the technology to be flexible, they don't expend any money to accept a cancellation and revert a charge for a service that was not given indeed. They shouldn't hold a .ORG status, that is a shame.
