Worst Toyota dealership ever

1

I had been looking for a rust-free 1999-2000 *Runner with a manual transmission, and they supposedly had one, but they performed a straight up BAIT AND SWITCH on me. I flew up to Salt Lake City from southern Arizona. Lo and behold when I arrive, I immediately notice a TON of rust on the undercarriage and surface rust on the lift gate. Now I understand completely that this is normal for the salted roads of Utah, but that is why I asked specifically if there was any rust. I was told it was rust free and in great shape for "being sixteen." On another note, it seemed to have quite a few other problems to include (but not limited to) sun-worn seats that were almost crunchy, malfunctioning turn signal, and the clutch pedal needed some serious adjustment. When I brought all of this up, I was verbally accosted by the used car manager and he explicitly stated I should have known the vehicle would have a lot of rust since it was in Utah. I should have walked, no, ran from the dealership at this point. I did, unfortunately, purchase a vehicle from this dealership, a 2011 4Runner. Although I love the 4Runner and it IS certified pre-owned, it did not appear to be detailed at all except for a light wash of the exterior. The interior had dog hair EVERYWHERE and what I can only assume was many years' worth of dog slobber/mud caked into the back of every seat - it cost me over $200 to have it detailed. I attempted to clean the hair myself, but my vacuum would not extract the hair. I do not know the breed, but it must have been a short-haired variety that has hairs that work themselves into carpet fabric. I am not someone who goes to a detailer for every little thing and am usually very comfortable in performing all levels of cleaning... but this was excessive to say the least. Also, the headlights were very hazy to the point that the low beams had a poor scatter pattern; I had them replaced for approximately $800. Also, the center console had a very deep scratch that was not pointed out to me when I was looking at the vehicle (it was on the passenger side and I could not see it while driving/sitting in the passenger seat) which cost over $100 to replace. The salesman did point out ONE scratch on the bumper that didn't look too bad, but when I later washed the exterior of the car, a lot of scratch concealer (black) came off, and it scratch looked much worse than it did before. Granted, I understand I should have noticed SOME of these problems during the test drive, but I expect more from a Toyota dealership and the condition of a certified pre-owned vehicle... and that they at least thoroughly detail the vehicle, and possibly touch up simple bodywork. My only hope is I receive the title in a timely fashion.
