6/25 I looked at a home that Castle Rock had listed on Zillow with a realtor in West Virginia. At the time, the house was on the market and CR was asking $2000. I have watched the house for a month and finally decided to get it since it was cheap. The house was in very bad shape and trash was all over the yard. It is in a flood zone and a eap water analysis area. Still, why not for $2000 is what I was thinking. 7/3 I contact the realtor and go look at the house on my way back from vacation. 7/4 I place a bid for the full price for $2000 and asked for a 7/19 closing date. 7/5 CR sent an email asking if I had heard from an asset manager and if I didn't within 24 hours fill out an attached form to send it which I did. 7/8 I see the listing marked pending on their website thinking they excepted my offer and are going to or have contacted my realtor which never happened. 7/9 No communication from Castle Rock Reo, no communication from the realtor in WV and still I'm wondering what is going on. I contact the realtor and he says he will check into it. Two hours later he says the asset manager accepted a offer on June 26th. What???? The realtor states that exact same thing has happened to him personally four times before dealing with Castle Rock. The president of sales supposedly fired the asset manager, but I'm still out time and money. The dream of building a hunting cabin is gone and I will never do businesses with this company again.
