We signed a contract for Schumacher to build our home. We used their bank and appraiser. The appraiser came back 30k less than Schumacher was going to build it for. Their only suggestion was for us to let go of some of the upgrades we had added. The GM here in SC is awful. No personality and NOT willing to work with the clients. In fact at our pre construction meeting, I felt he was super tense. We almost walked away then but didn't. In the long term, they gave us back our earnest money and let us walk. I really couldn't believe they wouldn't work on the price. They are by far not as inexpensive to build and all the "extras" that you'd think should be in a normal build was more money. User's recommendation: Would not reccomment.
