Waiting in Line

3

I've emailed Vons twice before because of this issue. I am a huge believer in safety precautions and social distancing. The Vons in our town (Simi Valley, CA) on Los Angeles and Yosemite, uses the "Wait here until an employee tells you which cashier you can go to." That's fine, but this requires that an employee ALWAYS be making sure to watch the line. Unfortunately, this doesn't happen, and the customers are left to stand for no reason, even if cashiers are not waiting on other customers. The cashiers can't see the line of customers and the customers can't see if the cashiers are busy or not, hence the need for someone to direct traffic! Other stores use the "stand here" method more effectively. Also, most stores allow customers to get into cashier lines themselves (there are 6 foot indicators on the floor). C'mon, man. User's recommendation: Shop elsewhere.
