Vodafone spain – charging me for something they said they would not (in writing)

I left Spain and before I did, I confirmed with customer service that I didn't need to return any equipment. I even got them to text me confirming this. Now they're saying that I owe them money for a router and that because the text was a mistake and gave the wrong information. Giving me credit after the fact is useless right now.
